Ag Technology Specialist

The position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:

  • Learn the Butler Machinery sales process.
  • Learn Butler Machinery Sales Support Systems such as SalesLink, DBS, iQuote, BMTS, and various supplier Sales Support interfaces.
  • Learn the Butler Machinery product and technology offerings.
  • Develops knowledge of competitive agriculture technology products.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plan to optimize technology sales opportunities.
  • Conducts presentations to demonstrate and sell agriculture technology at all BMC supported functions including in-store meetings, farm shows, sales meetings, etc.
  • Provides customer support through a rotational presence in the Ag Technology Call Center.
  • Job shadow other sales related positions within the organization to develop strong understanding of different functions within Butler Machinery.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Willingness to move to another BMC location within the territory as future opportunities become available as a Customer Account Manager or Product Specialist.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
  • Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.




  • Two or four year degree in Agri-business or Ag Technology related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge or experience with Agriculture Technology Products and Software.
  • Basic knowledge of Ag Equipment and current farming practices required.
  • Basic finance knowledge.
  • Problem solving skills. 
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are essential. 
  • Must be able to meet and maintain insurable driving status.
