Responsibilities

The position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:

  • Manages operating costs and provides reasonable profit margins for the company.
  • Establishes and maintains operating procedures for each department.
  • Provides guidance to management team and assists them in resolving various department and customer challenges.
  • Effectively partners with the corporate departments to ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Assists management team with setting goals that are realistic and attainable.
  • Directs management of sales personnel which includes assigning market territories, profit goals, guidance and training.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships
  • Analysis of monthly financial statements, market share and KPI’S.
  • Reviews buyers and rental orders for accuracy and compliance with company programs.
  • Reviews customer account balances and assists with collections.
  • Encourages and monitors career development and performance of store employees to include conducting performance reviews as needed but no less than annually.
  • Ensures the establishment of a safe and clean work environment for all associates by promoting BMC safety culture for all associates
  • Promotes the sale and rental of Construction and Agricultural products represented by BMC.
  • Promotes the values and capabilities of Parts and Service operations
  • Assists with industry related trade shows
  • Be an active member in industry related associations.
  • Works within and promotes vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Duties:

  • Supervise sales workforce, department managers and support staff.
  • Organizes, communicates and delegates responsibilities and priorities to subordinates.
  • Provides regular and timely feedback that recognizes employee performance, motivates employees and promotes self-development.
  • Communicates with and coaches employees on assignments, providing technical expertise as needed.
  • Selects, trains, and develops employees consistent with department/division goals, providing coach on career development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or industry related field preferred with management experience required or equivalent experience, training and background.
  • Leadership training or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • A demonstrated ability to work with people
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Accounting and Finance skills
  • Negotiating skills
  • Ability to analyze information and make decisions quickly
  • Leadership qualities: Ability to coach, counsel, and develop associates
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Equipment/Industry knowledge
  • Computer knowledge. Experience with Microsoft software a must.
  • Sales experience beneficial
